Author's note: "Ticking train" is five year old speak for "cog railroad."
Tamya was excited, there was a birthday party coming up, and she and Jamal were going. And it was at night! Or was supposed to be. And it was on the top of a mountain In Colorado! It was called Pikes peak. She was gunna ride on the ticking train, and look at the sun coming up! Daddy said it was extra special and that's why she got to stay up really really really late. She couldn’t wait!
It would be the first one she would ever see! her glee showed in the tears of joy running down her cheeks.
